In the context of the OLIVE_CULTURE Project, ATTC-Vlora started monitoring the olive fly (B. oleae) with various monitoring traps distributed on Pilot farms. From the verification carried out today, we found that in these traps 2-3 olive flies were caught. It’s the beginning of the flight but with a low dynamic. Now is the time to use alternative methods of fighting the adult insect, such as: using Eco traps, hanging plastic bottles with attractive solution (Olipe method), spraying 1 square meter from east every 14 days with the Suksses preparation. The usage of these methods will reduce the population of olive flies and consequently will be caused a low deposit of eggs in the grain. Do not hesitate. It’s time to start with the recommended treatments.
